BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Thursday, 31 January 2020 – As preparation for Brunei Darussalam Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2021, the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) conducted Exercise Setia Bersama 1/2019 from 31 January 2020 until 02 February 2020 focusing on the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Brunei-Muara District. 

The objectives of the exercise are to provide operational command and control of the Joint Force at the operational level, to conduct OMAP in response to a crisis situation by employing a comprehensive approach in a complex military, civilian and asymmetrical environment. Furthermore, the exercise acted allowed for a sustainable cycle within the Joint Force Headquarters to be conducted as well as to execute the joint plan, conduct Joint Coordination and synchronisation of both operational and tactical level.

The exercise was also be used as a platform to review the current procedures and to increase understanding towards procedures of other Government Departments (OGDs) when conducting operations. With the conduct of this exercise, it is hoped that any gaps and shortcomings  identified will be rectified to ensure a secure environment for the conduct of all conferences and activities during the period of Brunei Darussalam’s Chairmanship.
